Resurrection Sunday

What is life and death? Did Jesus come to save us from the grave? Is the life he came to give us, just to live for eternity? Today as we look at the resurrection we will explore these questions, and ask ourselves what was the great accomplishment of the resurrection, and is the grave really the death we should fear, or is there something greater.

What is the greatest exchange in history? Jesus, the perfect, innocent man was exchanged to a murder and a thief. Here we are shown the doctrine of the great exchange, where the perfect Son of God takes the place of sinners so they might take his place in God's presence.

We Need to be Humbled

Peter, leader of the early church, but what happened for him to be ready for such a position. First he had to humbled and right before Jesus death that is exactly what happens. We will all see our need to be humbled before the presence of God and understand that when we lean upon God even though we are weak we are strong.

Stay Awake

What is Abomination of Desolation? Will Christians be there during the great tribulation? So many different questions arise when we read through Mark 13. But here is what matters, Jesus wants us to stay awake. He wants us to be on guard. The purpose of the end times isn't for us to guess them, it is to be ready for the return of Jesus Christ. So that is what we will explore today, what should we be aware of, and how should we be ready?

The Folly of the Cross

The gospel seems to be viewed in so many different ways. Some hate it and some love it, unbelievers included. There are so many reactions, so will we ever truly know how people feel about it? Well God's word helps us to cut through much of it, to show us that without him all will see the gospel as foolish. Mark 9:30-32 Jesus focuses on His death and resurrection. It was not understood. Mark 9:33-37 Humble service. Regarding one another as more important than yourself. Mark 9:38-41 The young in faith. Don't make them stumble. Mark 9:42-48 Taking sin seriously because of Hell. Mark 9:49-50 Having salt in yourselves. Are you saved?

The Unexpected Way to Glory

Don't all of us want glory? We all want to be admired, and appreciated? But Jesus is going to show us that the way we go about seeking glory is often wrong, and that rather by seeking him and his righteousness, not the admiration of others. We will find glory and true recognition from God.
