Don't all of us want glory? We all want to be admired, and appreciated? But Jesus is going to show us that the way we go about seeking glory is often wrong, and that rather by seeking him and his righteousness, not the admiration of others. We will find glory and true recognition from God.

The cross is the token symbol of Christianity. A symbol that once meant excruciating suffering now means salvation. The cross is our salvation, but it is also the example Jesus set for us, as the way into the kingdom of God. What do we need for salvation? What is the necessary requirement for all those who wish to be a part of God’s kingdom? The Holy Spirit. In ‘the parable of the growing seed’ and ‘the parable of the mustard seed’, Jesus reveals how in all things regarding the Christian life, we are completely helpless without the power of the Holy Spirit. And he shows us that by embracing our helplessness we can find true assurance and peace.

Jesus calls us to bear fruit. To live as Christians in this broken and sinful world. But dangers lurk around every corner, and we must be vigilant, always watching for those things we endanger the fruitfulness of our lives. Jesus in the parable of the sower wants to reveal these dangers to us and reveal our deep need for him to save us from them.
