The story of Jonah is a topsy turvy plot, constantly going backwards and forwards. In it we see the character of Jonah evolve, here in chapter 4 he is at his worst and we will explore how that side him is also in all of us, and how we overcome it by the grace of Jesus Christ.

How far does the love of God go? Does his grace and mercy truly run so deep any number of the most vile and wicked peoples could be found in heaven? Jonah is about the thrown into the lion's den of human wickedness, the worst of the worst and yet we will see God's grace runs deeper, even into the hardest hearts. Come along and witness the amazing power of God's grace displayed in the gospel, as we walk through Jonah 3.

All of us must learn the way up is the way down. To draw near to God is a process not of being elevated but humbled. We will see this from Jonah 2, that it is not about us, it is all about God.

Jonah is a most interesting character, a prophet of God, meant to be faithful and obedient to the command of God is instead rebellious and stubborn. He is deserving of nothing but God's judgement and yet he rather encounters the God of endless compassion. This a story of God's rebellious people and his unending mercy and grace towards them.

As Christian , what is the most important thing for formation as strong, mature Christians? It is the Church. God has ordained that the Church would be the place of growth and nourishment for his people as well as the means through which the gospel would spread in the world. The Church is so important and yet it is so neglected today. Let's look with fresh eyes at the importance and necessity of the Church in our lives and in the world.

Today we are addressing a topic of much importance. We are talking about the world to come. We must acknowledge that this world is one day going to die, but there is a world to come that will never pass away. Jesus has called us to live as though this life is not all there is. So how are we to do that? Well's let's explore that together in the 4th sermon of our Church Responds series.

Is there a spiritual world or not? In the western world we all but entirely removed the idea from our minds. Even those that believe in one barely acknowledge it in their everyday lives. But as Christians it is of the utmost importance. For we are at war with a spiritual enemy, and if we do not understand, and if we do not learn how to wage the good warfare, to fight to good fight. We will find ourselves on the losing side.
